We arrived by train early in the morning. After, the subway and a short walk took us to the Cité Scolaire Internationale de Lyon, which organized the Tara school program. There, we attended a  conference led by members of the Tara crew, during which they explained their mission, the life on the schooner, their fields of study and goals. Then, we arrived on the boat itself, moored near by, on the Rhône. We had the opportunity to visit its deck, and saw a lot of the scientific instruments used for sampling. A member of the Tara group explained how the boat works, how water is sampled, how is the sea life. We then came back to the school, where volunteers explained in detail the stakes of the mission, the concerns of pollution, particularly microplastics, and the loss of biodiversity in plankton. A student showed us a sample from the Rhône, and we could see the severe lack of life.

After lunch, we went to visit the Musée des Confluences, located between the Rhône river and the Saône river. We visited many exhibitions, some were about the Evolution, natural selection, but also about colonisation, the evolution of different technologies or life after death. All of them were really well organised and well thought, making everything interesting. We then came back to the train station after a few hours, and went back to Dijon.

The museum was really enjoyable and pleasant. We really liked learning facts about many different subjects, countries, species or beliefs and seeing so many different objects, crystals and animals.
